**Brandon McConnell, God of Aerosol**

I Stumbled Upon this unbelievable artist, Brandon McConnell. The man rules the spray can!!!! His video that I happened across entirely transformed my view of the aerosol arts! Check out one of his vids here on YouTube or on his website, www.spacepaintings.com . You can not help but be inspired (or if you are an artist, after watching this, you may choose to give up on art completely! lol).

Back to School Shopping List

I know you all are going a little crazy trying to find the hottest Back-to-School trend in the endless racks of clothing at your local department store, so I'm going to help with a little of the stress (or possibly add to it HaHa) by giving you a top ten list for Back-to School.

Here goes...

TOP TEN BACK-to-School Trends List

1. Booties, Booties, Booties!! Get you two pairs; one pair in a practical color and the other pair in something wild. (I posted examples of some in one of my posts earlier this year.)

2. High waisted is still in.

3. A-Symmetrical dresses and tops

4. Military inspired jacket or coat. This one from Balmain's Spring 2010 is on my "Things I Would Give an Organ to Have" list. :-P

5. Hemlines below the knee and to the floor

6. Same hue from head to toe. Try wearing different tones and shades or a bright with a more muted version so that you will not feel over whelmed by the color. Here is an extreme version by A. F. Vandevorst Fall 2010 that I love.

7. Gold in unexpected places. These tights by Just Cavalli Fall 2010 are amazing!

8. Menswear inspired, tailored looks. Try wearing a Menswear inspired blazer with jeans and booties or match it with some funky tights and comfy, flats. Here's a pic from 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2010; this look is three trends in one... #2 High waisted belts, #7 unexpected gold, and #8 Menswear inspired.

9. Not your typical hoodie. Try getting a hoodie that proclaims "I love being the one and only ME!"
10. For the little traveler in all of us... Nomadic is now! This look from Elie Tahari Fall 2010, beautifully brings together trends #9 and #10.

And that completes the list! Wasn't that a lot easier than you were expecting? Now let go of your back-to-school shopping stress and go enjoy a delicious fruit smoothie, mmm... going to make one now...

****So FRESH, or So... NOT EVEN!!!****

Today's tip goes out to the men...those stinky boys--you know the ones. And if you are one, well, you'll know if you are one after reading this post.

To all the guys who haven't had a girl in a while or for that matter, never had one. To the gamer who spends hours on hours at the computer, and sometimes forgets to shower. To the artist that gets so wrapped up in his work that he forgets to do laundry. And finally to the guy that's well, oblivious...
Here are a few tips to make getting a date a little easier.

1. SHOWER We women love a man that smells nice. So SHOWER, and SHOWER at least once a day! If you play sports, have a job that requires a lot of sweating, or work around a lot of french fries, it would be great if you showered twice a day!!! SHOWER AFTER WORK before going out!! All of us women will appreciate it.

2. BRUSH YOUR TEETH Nothing deters a woman more than bad breath. Brushing at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed, is advised. If you are going out or going on a date, then BRUSH BEFORE THE DATE!!!!

3. Listerine & Chewing Gum Gargling with mouthwash adds that little bit extra to get super fresh breath! Also keep minty gum with you for those stinky breath emergencies.

4. Floss Ok, ok, last one about the teeth. Please, please floss. Most everyone brushes, but not everyone flosses. Several times I have been approached by a guy who seems alright, only to have my opinion of him completely change when he smiles and has a disgusting yellow build up between his teeth. Ewwww, turn off!!!

5. Deodorant Don't forget the deodorant, or the shower will be almost rendered pointless.

6. Cologne Wear it, but DO NOT OVER DO IT!! You see, in case you didn't know, we women must breath oxygen to survive. So if your overindulgence of cologne (especially if you are using it to cover for not showering, LORD FORBID), is sucking up all the clean oxygen within a 10ft radius, well you'll just have to be satisfied with yelling at us from across the room because WE WILL DIE if we get any closer!! So from now on, one spritz to the neck or chest and a second to the wrist, no more, please, there is enough air pollution coming from that Hummer over there.

7. Exfoliate Yes, men, exfoliation is for you too. Get a nice facial exfoliater like Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions Pore Refining Scrub. This will help with all the razor bumps and ingrown hairs and zits. Women have the luxury of covering their flaws with make-up, but men don't. So you've got to keep your skin in pristine condition, sorry.

8. Laundry Wear clean clothing!! Women can tell if that shirt has been sitting in the dirty clothes hamper all week. (Yes, even if you try to cover it with a gallon of cologne or body spray. Please see tip #6 if you are thinking about doing this.)

9. Water & Fruit Juice Water and fruit, help with the B.O. So drink extra water and lots of fruit. Cutting back on the garlic and onions also helps. Bonus: The extra water also helps with acne.

10. Moisturizer That's lotion, guys. I personally like a man with smooth, nice skin, No ashy-ness! Using a little lotion on your face and limbs will keep your skin looking fresh.

And that's my tip for the day, hope it helps all of you get dates for the weekend! Remember guys, those Old Spice and Axe commercials have some truth to them!!

**Gently Tasselled**

Hair Trend alert for Summer 2010: When pulling hair back, leave some locks framing the face. This gives a "Hey, I look amazing, and I didn't even have to try for it" look. Just smear a little finishing cream like John Frieda's Secret Weapon on the loose bits to keep away frizz, and Yay, easy hair-do!!

**Future-Trenders**

For my first post in several weeks, I chose this amazingly awesome photo taken in June of the Smith-littles. Love love love when parents let their children dress as they please. Starts their free thinking and creativity off early!!
